Perjalanan ke Yogyakarta

One can travel to Yogyakarta by plane, bus or train, depending from where is one heading to the region. There are a number of airlines like Malaysia Airlines, Merpati, Batavia Air, Lion Airlines/Lion Mentari Air, Air Asia, Garuda Indonesia and Mandala Airlines that serve the international airport of Yogyakarta.

Garuda operates flights to Kuala Lampur and Singapore three times on a weekly basis. The province is also connected to Java, Sulawesi, Kalimantan and Sumatra by flights.
 
Yogyakarta can also be reached by bus. Giwangan is the main bus stop of the region. If travelling by train, tourists can choose between the Agro Class or Economy Class to reach Yogyakarta, located in the Yogyakarta Special Region.

There are two train stations in Yogyakarta that serve as a stop for different kind of trains. The primary train station is called Tugu station whereas the one attending to economy class trains and small city destinations is known as Lempuyangan Station.      

The best way to reach Yogyakarta is by flight. Tourists travelling from Kuala Lumpur, can board Air Asia and Malaysia Airlines to reach Adisucipto International Airport. Indonesia Air Asia Airlines is the only airline operating between Singapore and Yogyakarta.

On the other hand, tourists can travel to Yogyakarta from nearby places by boarding domestic flights. Batavia Air, Sriwijaya Air and Lion Air are the airlines operating between Balikpapan and Jakarta-Soekarno-Hatta.

Tourists travelling to Yogyakarta from Surabaya can board Wings Air, Lion Air and Batavia Air. Merpati Nusantara Airlines, another domestic airline, operates between Makassar and Yogyakarta.

The best way of reaching Yogyakarta from India is by air. Although there are no direct flight services to Yogyakarta from India, there are connecting flights offered by a few airlines; Malaysia Airlines being a prominent one. The other airlines with services from India to Yogyakarta are SriLankan Airlines and Kingfisher.

Malaysia Airlines flies to Yogyakarta from 5 different cities of India -- Mumbai, Hyderabad, Chennai, Delhi and Bangalore; the last two are also served by SriLankan Airlines and Kingfisher respectively on the India-Yogyakarta route.
